On Muir Island, Jean Grey takes some time off from the X-Men and goes to stay with Moira MacTaggert, an old friend and flame of Charles Xavier. Moira has a work emergency and has to leave for a couple of hours so Jean goes to the local mall and goes shopping. As she is checking out, she turns behind her and bumps into a man who is Jason Wyngarde. He offers to take her out on a date but she declines because she is still dating Scott. When Jean returns to the house, Moira just finishes getting off the phone with Charles and tells Jean it's time to go back because Charles has found two mutants, Kitty Pryde and Alison Blaire, and they are in danger.

When Jean gets to the mansion, she is warmly greeted by everyone and is greeted by a kiss by her lover Scott. Wolverine looks away in jealousy. The X-Men now split ways to find the mutants. Storm, Colossus, Wolverine, Charles, and Nightcrawler go find Kitty and Jean and Scott go find Alison. Jean and Scott go to the club and they she Dazzler as she performs
